The movement for a more inclusive outdoors
Inspired by his Filipino-American heritage and experiences growing up in SoCal, DJ Javier's designs blend local counter-cultural influences with fine art, a unique combination that celebrates his community, his love of nature, and his mission for a more inclusive outdoors.
Marmot's iconic Mammoth coat is the must-have outerwear piece for 2021. Real fashionistas and hip-hop-heads know the iconic down parka. It was designed to be functional and timeless, but it really took off when it became a staple of the New York City hip-hop scene in the '90s. Nicknamed the "Biggie" coat, it was a big hit among rappers and fans alike.
By 2013, the parka was so desirable that it had become the object of street thefts. Marmot and its dealers pulled the jacket from the market and the only way to find a “Biggie” was in the secondhand market. Until Now, in 2021 Marmot and Highsnobiety are relaunching the Mammoth.
I led creative for SoFi’s Raise Week campaign. A weeklong national event to help our customers get what they’re truly worth in the workforce. Touch points included online education, in-person events in eight cities, and personal career coaching.
I developed an integrated campaign to launch a multi-year partnership between Marmot and the new Ford Bronco. These iconic brands share a rich heritage rooted in a culture of outdoor adventure. The collections will be supported by events, paid and earned media by both Ford and Marmot as well as social media marketing featuring brand ambassadors.
As Art Director for the SoFi + Golden Gate Marathon, I developed comprehensive branding for the event. Touch points included: activation identity design, branded games, way-finding, furniture and social media strategy.
As an additional "surprise and delight" gift, we partnered with Nike to develop a custom branded shoe exclusive for SoFi members.
I led concept and design for Marmot’s Fall 2022 Look Book. An interactive collection of rich story telling covering 5 seasonal campaigns. UX was optimized for mobile to drive conversion and showcase the bold color and fresh technical designs in each collection.

I helped Cole Haan and Mountain Hardwear launch their new collection of men's and women's outerwear and backpacks.
Cole Haan has an enduring dedication to elegant innovation. Mountain Hardwear was founded on a commitment to empowering outdoor athletes to live boldly. Now, the two join forces in ZerøGrand outerwear, a new collection that stands up to the unique rigors of city living.

During my role as Room & Company's lead designer, I helped the company grow from a single location to three stores and launch a highly lucrative e Commerce web site. Within two months of going live, the site reached six figures in per-month sales.
Humor, natural beauty, friendship, and failure are all emotions that forge memories. I developed the Days You Remember campaign to celebrate those moments and delight and inspire the Mountain Hardwear community.

I don’t have huge budgets or giant agencies to concept and produce branded content. I’ve assembled a small in-house team of talented designers and filmmakers and together we craft stories that captivate audiences and outperform our deep pocketed rivals. Story is king and a great one is the best path into the hearts and minds of consumers.
This seasonal marketing campaign between the Crocker Art Museum, Discovery Museum, Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town was a big hit with families looking to enjoy the region's best known attractions. Coinciding with a $100M museum renovation, the Crocker celebrated all summer long with art exhibits, local food and wine, live music, street fairs and special events.
The Outdoor Retailer trade show is the largest outdoor trade show in North America averaging 25,000 attendees. As Mountain Hardwear’s Creative Director, its my job to refresh the booth each season to communicate with retailers the key products and technologies coming to market.
As senior designer at Pair Design I created event branding for one of the largest software conferences in the world, EMC Momentum. Held in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Hotel, the week long event hosts 4,000 attendees to experience the latest software and storage solutions in the tech industry. I developed all brand components for the traveling event over a three-year period, held in Montreal, Las Vegas and Rome.
